Furuno FA70 Blass B+ AIS

Model: FA70
  • Silent Mode with optional ON/OFF switch
  • Compact and light with wider range and faster transmit performance*
  • Internal VHF splitter eliminates need for separate antenna*
  • Switchable SO-TDMA and CS-TDMA*
  • NMEA2000 port, 2x NMEA0183 ports and a USB (micro B) port
  • Initial setup can be done through the NMEA2000 network (TZT2/TZT3)

The new FA70 AIS Transceiver provides multiple ports for simple connection to your NavNet, AIS-capable Radar or Chart Plotter, or your favorite navigation software. AIS is a critical enhancement in congested waterways, or during periods of limited visibility or heavy seas. Information such as vessel name and call sign, position, course, and speed are graphically presented, allowing you to monitor vessel traffic easily. Because it does not require line of sight to function, you can see AIS-equipped vessels on your electronics before you can see them on the water.

The FA70 is a complete Class B+ (SOTDMA) AIS that transmits your vessel information at faster rates and more powerfully than existing Class B units for added awareness. SOTDMA guarantees an AIS time slot allocation, making you visible in congested waters. The FA70 even has its own internal Hi-Accuracy GPS Receiver with WAAS differential (DGPS) capability, ensuring that you're transmitting the highest precision information. The standard built-in VHF Antenna Splitter allows it to share your VHF Radio's antenna, making installation simple. Note that the FA70 is a transmitting device and requires an AIS VHF Compatible Antenna just like any Class B+, Class B, or Class A AIS system
